New Orleans 4-Day Itinerary: History, Bayou & Creole Living

New Orleans 4-Day Itinerary: History, Bayou & Creole Living

Four nights to give New Orleans the space it deserves. Available Year Round | Starting from $2,900 per Guest

Four nights gives New Orleans the space it deserves. The French Quarter, the WWII Museum, the Garden District, and Frenchmen Street are all here — and so is the bayou: cypress swamps, open water, and a Louisiana that most visitors never reach. A fourth day adds NOMA’s sculpture garden, Mardi Gras World, and a Second Line experience — brass band, umbrellas, neighbourhood streets, one of the most joyful and distinctly local things this city offers. Private transport links every day, restaurant reservations are handled, and each morning has a clear focus so the experience feels connected rather than assembled. By the end, you won’t just have visited New Orleans. You’ll have felt it.

This is a suggested itinerary — we can tailor it based on your group’s interests and pace.

What Our Expert Designer Loves About This Experience?

“This journey gives travelers a more complete view of New Orleans and Louisiana. It balances the French Quarter, WWII history, jazz, the Garden District, the bayou, Mardi Gras culture, and Creole cooking in a way that feels rich but still beautifully paced.”

Four Nights: Into the Bayou and Beyond

Day One – Arrivals and the French Quarter

Private car from MSY to your hotel — Four Seasons New Orleans or Windsor Court for a refined arrival. A private French Quarter walking tour opens the afternoon, followed by a private cocktail experience at the Sazerac House Museum. Dinner at Jewel of the South or Saint-Germain for a contemporary first-night dinner that sets the bar for the rest of the week.

  • Roundtrip airport transfers via private car (MSY)
  • French Quarter History Walking Tour | 2 Hours (New Orleans Secrets Tours)
  • The Sazerac House | Sazerac Cocktail Tasting Experience

Day Two – History, Culture, and the WWII Story

A full morning at the National WWII Museum on a private tour — one of the great American museums. The New Orleans Jazz Museum fills the early afternoon with the history of jazz through instruments and recordings. An architectural guided tour adds another layer to the city’s story. The evening is Preservation Hall. Dinner at Antoine’s or Galatoire’s.

Day Three – The Natural South: Bayou, Garden, and Creole Kitchen

Into the cypress swamps and open water for a Louisiana swamp and bayou excursion — a very different side of the state. From bayou to mansion-lined streets: the Garden District walking tour is a satisfying contrast. A Creole cooking class at NOSC fills the late afternoon. A mule-drawn carriage ride closes the evening romantically. Dinner at Commander’s Palace or Emeril’s.
