This half-day is the essential New Orleans introduction: the French Quarter on foot, the jazz story told through instruments and recordings at the Jazz Museum, a live set at Preservation Hall, and a mule-drawn carriage ride through the Quarter at golden hour. It moves well and covers four distinct experiences without feeling like a checklist. For guests arriving in the afternoon, it’s the ideal way to land in the city.

Tour Itinerary & Highlights

Note: This is a suggested itinerary – we can customize based on your preferences.

  • Private French Quarter walking tour: Wrought-iron balconies, hidden courtyards, St. Louis Cathedral, and the stories behind the streets with a knowledgeable private guide.
  • New Orleans Jazz Museum: The history of jazz told through the instruments, recordings, and stories of the musicians who shaped it. Set inside the Old US Mint.
  • Preservation Hall: An iconic New Orleans institution in the French Quarter. Arrive early for the best spot — the space is small and the music is real.
  • Mule-drawn carriage ride: A Royal Carriages tour through the Quarter as the light turns golden. A lovely, unhurried way to close the afternoon.

*Gratuity for the tour guide is not included.
